We All Want to Be Beautiful!!
And we all are. It's just a question of what makes our shape look it's best on our wedding day. Wedding dresses have come a long way. There are more styles and shapes available than ever before. You don't need to wear the princess ballgown or the gigantic train. (Although if your royalty we understand.) Below are some pictures and examples of different types of wedding dress silhouettes and styles.
By way of explaining what a wedding dress can do for you I will use my cousins as examples. My cousin Julie is a romantic, she cries at tender moments, she's tall, skinny, blonde and beautiful. (I know it's tough to be her.) My description of her bridal style would be 'sexy barbie'. She is the type of person who would love a romantic princess dress, but would benefit from a tighter fitting one that isn't a pouf-ball. Too much fabric on any frame from tall to short is a no. What that would look like is preferably a drop-waist or mermaid silhouette with the big skirt at the bottom and dramatic back. For her a design label like Lazaro from the Jim Hjelm Bridal Group would be perfect. My cousin Katie is also tall but more of a no-nonsense kind of girl, athletic, smart, and more traditional. I would think of her bridal style as more contemporary and architectural or 'zen traditional'. Her silhouette would be a more traditional shape, either ball gown or a-line, with modern details, like ruffles instead of beading a appliques instead of lace. Something fun and still recognizable as a wedding dress like those from Pronovias a design label from Barcelona.
